Alex writes: After a very draining ride yesterday I was not looking forward to the climbs at the start of this day, but as it turned out a good night's sleep and a good breakfast, combined with the cooler morning temperatures, made all good.
Another 200m climb followed in quick succession, bagging us another col, although Glyn opined that cols don't really count unless the altitude has got four digits.
The bulk of the climbing done, we headed east through rural Belgium in wooded, rolling landscape stopping for coffees, lunches and icecreams as the mood took us. Before long we crossed the Luxembourg border and then rode on to the city itself for a beer in a posh square.
Just a final 20km then to the hotel for the night, which was complicated by a series of hard closures on the Eurovelo 5 cycleways. Various bikes have developed various mechanical glitches so we will be searching for a bike shop tomorrow.
