Rupert writes: (22 Dec) Cambridgeshire remains in tier 2, but the neighbouring counties of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, and in Essex the district of Braintree, are all now in tier 4. We can still organise small group rides so long as the route stays in tier 2.
Braintree district contains many lanes and villages that cyclists from the Cambridge area often visit, including Sturmer and the Bumpsteads. See this map. The same applies to Hertfordshire, which includes places like Ashwell and Barkway. See this map. We will be avoiding these areas.
So we're limited to Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and the Uttlesford district of Essex. Fortunately this leaves plenty of good route options.
There is still a legal limit of just six riders on all rides in tier 2 (the "rule of six") so you must contact the leader to book a place on all our rides. Remember that any informal groups in tier 2 are also subject to the same limit of six and that groups must sit outdoors at any cafe stops.
As before, please read our Supplementary guide for riders while Covid-19 restrictions apply.
