Ian B writes: Last Tuesday I cycled between Barrington and Shepreth and saw the progress on the renovation of the old bridge.
The temporary pedestrian bridge (see photo) had just been opened and the bridge roadway was newly stripped back to reveal the brick archways. I had a quick chat with one of the workers in his cab (from an appropriate distance) who said that they were waiting for the new infill so they could build up the road again.
I've never seen a road bridge without the actual road itself and would have loved to have got closer. However I had to be happy with a few snaps through the fence. Anyway rest assured that you will be able to get through.
Ian.
